Install ColdFusion on Mac OS X
You going to run several severs on your MAC, so be sure that your computer can handle it. Installing ColdFusion on an underpowered or too little memory computer is not recommended.
Before installing ColdFusion on your MAC, you first prepare OS X. So the ColdFusion installer can find everything.
Start local Apache Web Server on MAC
You do not have to install local Web Server on MAC. Apache is already installed. All you have to do is start your local Web Server.
Open System Preferences and select Sharing. Open Services and mark Personal Web Sharing.
See image below: (sorry for removing my personal information).

It is just the same on Sun Solaris or Windows. Because Windows is not UNIX as Mac OS X and Solaris, Windows is slightly different. The typical Web Server on Windows 2000, XP or Vista is IIS or PWS for Windows 95 and 98.
Now, open your Web browser and type "localhost" as the address.
If your Web Browser looks like the image below, everything are ok – local Apache Web Server are running. (Test Page for Apache Installation.)
If not. You can download and install Apache from this link: http://httpd.apache.org/

Install ColdFusion Scorpio on MAC
The installation screens are taken from our installation of Adobe Pre-Release of Scorpio. We were testing the new ColdFusion Server for Adobe on a Mac Pro. Installations are exactly the same for ColdFusion MX 7.
Windows XP and Vista are also tested and everything looks GREAT.
So, those of you using ColdFusion really have something to look forward too.
OK.
Installation of ColdFusion Server on Mac:
First, turn ON the Web Server before you begin the installation so the installer find the built-in Web Server Apache that comes with Mac OS X.

Select your language for the installation.

Pretty self-explanatory – Next or Cancel.

Read the License Agreement. After that select "I accept" and click Next.

The 30-day trial is the full Enterprise version serving any number of IP addresses. After that it turns into the Developer Edition which serves CF pages to 2 IP addresses.
